Technicolor

Another boring afternoon
Mechanical, clockwork
All black n white
Thankless job.

A lazy side glance
and I saw her walk by me
In a skirt
with long oiled hair, reeking of South Indianness
In the sea of blondes and western suits.

Our eyes met
Interlocked
2 seconds, maybe 3
She momentarily took control of the colour button.

A faint smile formed on my lips
and hers
Both unable to look away
Till she passed by me completely.

Refreshing!
Like a cup of steaming hot South Indian filter coffee
in a Starbucks store.

The small moments which make life worth it.
