XXX online

ICANN approves the domain extension 'xxx' to differentiate pornographic sites from the rest. It claims that it will ensure easier blocking and policing.

ICANN is selling the extension at 60USD a year, which the article says is arnd 10 times the usual charges. The article also says that some sites may adopt this extension but many wont. Obviously! If you are charged 10 times the usual charges to get a xxx extension, and you stil have a much cheaper option of having a .com extension, then why take a xxx extension at all, especially if you already have an established base with ur .com site? Mebbe it makes sense if you are a major player and you need a xxx extension for brand building or whatever. But considering cyber regulation, especially in pornography, is still very vague a concept rt now, what is the whole point in having a new extension which is most probably not gonna serve its purpose jus because it is too costly?!
