Back to the Future...

Was just watchin the second edition of this movie trilogy rite now before i was disturbed by a bout of instant messagin frm my yahoo messenger which forced me to take this break...
The first one was a cracker of an entertainer...more of a comedy movie...and i vaguely remember Spielberg also inolved in this movie in some way...
The second one is not exactly comical and is much more serious as compared to the first one...

But wht prompted me to write a couple of lines abt his movie is the impact it had on me...i was watchin this second edition for an hr or so when my friend coaxed me to go out for a cup of coffee (at 10PM, as is our regular custom). I just got onto the bike and my friend started off when i had this vague feeling that i was actually taking off into the future a-la-Back to the Future...i was jus waiting for the Yam to take off, disappear for a moment and suddenly reappear sometime in the future!!! But sadly no such thing happened and i m still stuck in the same old present (though i m not too sure how present can be old :-)) times...

The movie makes you wonder about the numerous possibilities if you can actually have a time machine and travel in it...

(1) You can "rewrite" your past and make amendments to how you end up in the present

(2) You can have a first hand experience of the past and (as happens in the movie) you can actually verify the facts tht ur parents and other elders reel off about their past. For instance, you may hear frm ur Dad tht he was a topper in Maths in school and u mite end up discovering tht he was last in class...Or he may tell u drinking is bad for health and he has not touched a drop of alcohol ever in his life and you may uncover the fact that he had won an award in college for drinking the maximum bottles of beer in one go!

(3) You can go to the future, learn about how the things change with time, and adjust (read manipulate) yours accordingly so as to maximise your benefit

(4) and many more...

But ultimately the point is that it spoils the whole fun of life which is glorious in itself...wht is the fun in living

if you know what exactly will happen to you next...
if u can live exactly like u want to...
if there is no uncertainty in life...
if u can manage your own destiny/fate...

Life, as we live it now, is a lot of fun...you never know - while you are holidaying, a killer tsunami wave may hit u in a split second, even before you realise it, and you might actually come out of it with just some scratches...that is what is glorious about life - the uncertainty

So dear people, please dont worry about the future...whatever has to happen will happen and is best left untampered...

Guess i will sign off this post with something tht just struck me as an integral part of the crap i have put up just above...a verse frm the Bhagavadgita (in English)

Whatever happened is for ur good...
Whatever is happening is for ur good...
Whatever will happen is for ur good...

Leave life as it is...look forward to the future...

Well, there is a theory that claims that one cannot change his current or future state just by travelling back in time. The theory goes that the universe as we know isnt alone - but there is an infinite number of universes, and that any act of time-travel will in effect be a visit to another of these universes. Thus your life will not change in your original universe. Am not sure if the above made sense, but be rest assured there does exist such a theory, and that any stupidity you might see in the above is purely due to my ineptness :P

huh.. why did i even bother saying all the above when i know ur response is goin to be a simple "soo moo"

The theory is strong...and seems to make sense...
I believe this theory was used to some extent in a Jet Li movie called "The One" where the theme was soemthing like this - There are 100 different Jet Li's in different universes, and their total power is the same. So, if one is killed, the power of all of the remaining increases. There is a bad Jet Li (from this 100) who sets about to kill the other 99 and become the most powerful...he manages 98, but the last one is a "good" one and fights him...and i guess he wins over the bad one...

btw eV, kindly soo moo
